A collection of perspectives and memories of the 1981 period of Irish history. This book was originally published in 2001 as part of the Celebration of Resistence weekend commemorating the 20th anniversary of the hungerstrike. This book includes biographies of the ten republican prisoners who died during the prison protest in 1981 as well as a look at how a form of protest such as hungerstrike was traditionally used in Ireland during ancient times in order to achieve justice. The book also includes personal memories from family members and other political activists who share their memories of critical times during that turbulant year in Irish history.
